ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

 

Abstracts for the Transmedcon 2024 will be accepted under the following topics:

Management, Organisation, Hemovigilance and Quality

These comprise abstracts on topics such as information technology, training and education, cost-effectiveness, management of the blood supply and utilization, quality control, hemovigilance and its effects, and social, legal, and ethical concerns pertaining to blood donation and transfusion as well as related topics.

Therapeutic Apheresis & Cellular Therapies

Abstracts about the various apheresis techniques, clinical applications, technical difficulties, and modifications—such as stem cell collections, storage, tissue banking, cord blood collection, processing, storage, and release of different products—as well as other relevant subjects are included in this category.

Blood Components

These cover abstracts on topics such as pathogen inactivation, plasma-derived products, blood processing, blood components, storage and release, post-production processing variations, novel blood products/components, and related subjects.

Blood Donors and Blood Donation

Abstracts on blood donor adverse events, blood donor health, blood collection (including apheresis), donor recruitment and retention, public health research on donors, and related subjects are among them.

Clinical Transfusion Practice, Patient Blood Management & Patient Safety

Abstracts about transfusion practice in various clinical scenarios, such as the obstetric and neonatal populations, the intensive care unit, massive hemorrhage, transfusion and transplants, patient blood management, and more, are included in these. Therapeutic apheresis, adverse transfusion events, patient safety improvement initiatives, clinical-lab interface initiatives, and related topics will also be covered.

Immunohematology

These comprise abstracts on rare donors, platelet and granulocyte immunology, fetal and maternal immunology, including the clinical implications of all of the aforementioned subjects, and red cell immunohaematology, including both molecular and serological aspects.

Innovations in Transfusion Medicine

These include abstracts about recent developments that improve transfusion medicine quality in any area: blood collection, donor care, bedside safety, education, or any other area.

Transfusion Transmitted Infectious Diseases

These comprise abstracts about new pathogens and other transfusion-related pathogens, screening techniques for TTI involving bacteria and parasites, approaches to address the problem of blood safety, and associated subjects.

Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics

These cover subjects like HLA-related solid organ and stem cell transplants, the function of HLA in transfusion medicine, and HLA’s role in various contexts like drug hypersensitivity, disease associations, and other related subjects.

Not Otherwise Specified

This is the place to submit your abstract if it relates to the field of transfusion medicine but does not fall under one of the aforementioned topics!

 

 

General Instructions for Submission of Abstract

  • Registration for the conference is mandatory for submission.
  • Please use your registered e-mail id and password to sign-in to the abstract submission portal.
  • Abstracts to be submitted via the Submission Portal.
  • Abstracts submission via other modes such as e-mail or any offline mode is prohibited.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in supplementary edition of Asian Journal of Transfusion Science (AJTS).
  • Only a registered delegate can submit an abstract.
  • The submission begins 15th April 2024 onwards.
  • The submission shall close on the midnight of 30th July 2024.
  • Acceptance shall be notified latest by 31st August 2024 to the submitter via an e-mail.
  • Abstract title is restricted to 50 words.
  • The title of the abstract must be concise. Please do not use abbreviations.
  • Abstract content is restricted to 300 words. Do not include graphs / tables / images / references in the abstract.
  • Abstract content must have headings as below:
    • Introduction
    • Aims & Objective
    • Materials & Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  • Do not mention the name of the institute or name of authors in the abstract body.
  • Do not use prefixes/titles of author/co-authors.
  • Abstract must be submitted in English.
  • The abstract should be an original work; the Organizing Committee shall not be responsible for any conflict arising regarding plagiarism of submission.
  • 12th TRANSMEDCON 2024 shall not be responsible for errors in the abstract submission. It is important that you read your text to ensure accuracy with no spelling, grammatical or scientific errors. No corrections will be accepted after the abstract submission deadline and the abstract will be published exactly as submitted.
  • The scientific committee reserves the right to accept / reject / assign presentation type to the abstract however the submitter may register the presentation preference on portal.
  • Notification regarding acceptance of the submission along with the guidelines for presentation will be sent to the corresponding author’s e-mail.
