Objective of Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine
- To function as an Indian Society for all scientific professionals involved in Transfusion Medicine.
- To foster scientific investigation, clinical application, education and exchanges of information and ideas, relating to Transfusion Medicine and allied fields in clinical and laboratory medicine.
- To encourage, advance and maintain high standards of administrative and technical performance in the field of Transfusion Medicine.
- To award prizes, medals, other certificates, scholarships or fellow- ships to persons found deserving.
- To print, publish, distribute or sell books, pamphlets, notices, pictures, periodicals, newspapers and magazines or any other literature on any matter concerning or relating to transfusion medicine.

- Cooperation with other related National and International scientific organizations to promote and foster the exchange and diffusion of knowledge relating to Transfusion Medicine.
- To organize and arrange for scientific and educational meetings in the field of Transfusion Medicine.
- Development and publication of guidelines and recommendations in the field of Transfusion Medicine.
- To act as an advisory forum to the various appropriate authorities, legislative bodies/committees and Government bodies in regard to all subjects concerning the objectives of the Society.
- To make Rules and Regulations in connection with creation and functioning of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
