Affiliate Membership of International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT)

 

Dear Member of ISTM,

 ISTM is an Affiliate Member of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT). As a member of ISTM, you thereforereceive freeaccess to a selection of material on ISBT’s educational platform: ISBT Education.

On ISBT Education you will find accredited webcasts from various ISBT congresses that cover many different fields of Transfusion Medicine, including blood supply management, immunohematology, transfusion transmitted infections, and much more. Moreover, you have access to an educational eBook covering all basic aspects of Blood Transfusion, and an international guideline library.

 In order to access the Affiliate Suite on ISBT Education you will need to create an account via this registration link:https://isbt.multiregistration.com/register/step1?form_id=21. Please note your details will not be used for any promotional emails, not by ISBT, ISTM or any other third party, and your personal data will be protected according to European GDPR legislation.

Once you have confirmed your registration you can go directly to education.isbtweb.org and log in by clicking the ‘temporary login’ button at the top of the page. With your account you can use ISBT Education both via the website and the free mobile app.

 Please note that once you are logged in you are only able to watch content under the Affiliate Suite-tab. You can, however, browse all content on ISBT Education to see what full ISBT-members have access to.

DR. VIJAY LAXMI
The news that Professor Vijay Laxmi Ray has left for heavenly abode has left the fraternity of Transfusion Medicine not only sad but with a void which is almost impossible to fill. For decades she served the Indian Transfusion Medicine field as a dynamic thinker, worker and a dreamer. I was amongst those fortunate who got an opportunity to work in close vicinity as a student of Madam when she joined the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Lucknow as Professor and Head of the Department in 1998 when I was pursuing my Post graduation. Hers was a life well lived and all those who were ever associated with her will remember her as creator, a care taker, a great teacher and a leader who had a heart so malleable yet authoritative and convincing.
